Job Overview

Pulse is recruiting for a Band 5 Pharmacy Technician to join a busy pharmacy service in Nottingham. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and detail-oriented technician to contribute to the safe and effective delivery of pharmacy services while supporting patient care.

The successful candidate will work within a collaborative multidisciplinary environment, assisting with dispensing activities, stock management, prescription accuracy checking, and the smooth running of day-to-day pharmacy operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Dispense, label, and accuracy-check prescriptions in accordance with pharmacy procedures.
• Coordinate dispensary workflow and manage prescription-related queries.
• Liaise effectively with pharmacy colleagues and clinical teams.
• Use pharmacy electronic systems to label, print, and process prescriptions.
• Support stock control and inventory management activities.
• Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with pharmacy standards.
• Communicate professionally with colleagues and service users both face-to-face and via telephone.
• Work independently and as part of a wider multidisciplinary team.
• Maintain a high standard of patient care while managing competing priorities and interruptions.

Qualifications and Experience

• GPhC-registered Pharmacy Technician.
• Previous dispensing and accuracy-checking experience.
• Experience using pharmacy electronic systems.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of stock management processes.
• Commitment to Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining accuracy.
• Desirable: Accredited Checking Technician (ACT) qualification.
• Previous NHS pharmacy experience is desirable.
