Job description
Automotive Service Manager Crain Automotive Group – Northwest Arkansas Position Summary Crain Automotive Group is seeking an experienced Automotive Service Manager to lead one of our service departments in Northwest Arkansas. We are looking for a hands-on leader who can build a strong team, develop employees, improve processes, and create an exceptional experience for every customer.
The ideal candidate will understand dealership service operations and have a proven ability to coach service advisors and technicians toward higher levels of performance. This position places a strong emphasis on leadership, training, employee development, accountability, and creating a positive workplace culture.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the daily operations of the service department. Recruit, train, coach, and develop service advisors, technicians, and support staff. Establish clear performance expectations and hold team members accountable. Conduct regular one-on-one coaching, department meetings, and ongoing process training. Identify employees with leadership potential and create development plans for future advancement.
Build a positive, professional, and team-focused department culture. Monitor technician productivity, efficiency, and available workload. Maintain an organized dispatch process and consistent shop flow. Ensure timely completion of multipoint inspections and technician videos. Coach advisors on presenting recommended services and following up on declined work.
Monitor open repair orders, aging work, parts delays, and customer communication. Improve customer satisfaction by setting clear expectations and ensuring proactive updates. Handle customer concerns professionally and work toward timely resolutions. Review department performance, expenses, gross profit, labor sales, hours per repair order, and other key indicators.
Work closely with parts, sales, accounting, and dealership leadership. Maintain compliance with manufacturer requirements and company policies. Promote a safe, clean, organized, and productive working environment.
Qualifications
Previous automotive dealership service management experience is a must. Strong leadership, coaching, and employee-development skills. Working knowledge of dealership service operations and repair-order processes. Ability to manage workflow, prioritize responsibilities, and solve problems. Strong communication and customer-service skills.
Comfortable using performance metrics to coach employees and improve results. Ability to create accountability while maintaining a positive team environment. Valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record.

Work Schedule Full-time position. Availability may be required during normal dealership operating hours, including some Saturdays. Crain Automotive Group is an equal-opportunity employer.
