Full Time Experienced Traveling Automotive Mechanics (517)

Performance Driven Workforce (PDW) is now hiring Full-Time Experienced Automotive Mechanics (Travelers) for an automotive Tier 1 supplier. Full-Time Experienced Automotive Mechanics will modify cars and trucks in a prototype environment, performing a wide range of diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance. The Full-Time Experienced Automotive Mechanics will perform independent project tasks and collaborate with customers and team members.

This position is primarily based at Livonia, MI, with occasional travel required when needed and offers an AM day shift. Candidates meeting the requirements for this Full-Time Experienced Automotive Mechanics position below are strongly encouraged to apply. Shift: AM day shift: 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM (Monday – Friday, plus weekends as needed) Responsibilities: Maintain vehicle functional condition by working off repair orders or leader instructions and conducting inspections Repair mechanical and electrical system malfunctions and replace parts and components Read, interpret, and follow service procedures Maintain vehicle records by entering notes, service, and repair orders Keep shop equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, performing preventive maintenance, calling for repairs Participate in daily shop organization and clean-up Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent Minimum of 4 years of work experience as a Mechanic Knowledge of mechanical assembly and ability to operate shop equipment Good attention to detail and organizational skills Able to work independently and as part of a team Has own tools with rolling toolbox and able to work overtime and weekends Ability to read, comprehend and execute written procedures Able to travel when needed Preferred Qualifications: Certificate in Automotive Technology or related National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Certification(s) State Mechanic Certification(s) Valid driver’s license Knowledge of vehicle alignments, air conditioning (A/C) system repairs, tire machines and balancers Retirees and veterans are welcome.
