Construction Field Superintendent

ABOUT THE ROLE

We’re looking for a Field Superintendent to join our General Contracting team! In this role, you’ll oversee daily field operations on commercial construction projects, ensuring quality execution, schedule adherence, and safety compliance. You’ll lead subcontractors, coordinate with project managers, and represent Buildings By Design on the ground – keeping project running smoothly from start to finish.

What You'll Do

Maintain and manage a rolling three (3) week look-ahead schedule for all trades and project milestones Oversee field execution to ensure work meets company standards for safety, quality, and craftsmanship Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and inspectors to stay on track and within scope Conduct and document required inspections and quality control checks using project management software Collaborate closely with project managers, clients, and architects to solve problems in real time Monitor jobsite progress and proactively communicate issues or delays What Success Looks Like You’ll thrive in this role if you are a hands-on leader who knows how to run a jobsite and motivate a team.

You’ve got an eye for quality, a strong understanding of building systems, and the communication skills to keep everyone aligned – from the field to the office. If you take pride in delivering projects safely, on time, and to spec, we want you on our team.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent Preferred: An Associate (AS) degree in Business Administration, Construction Management or similar Work Experience Required: A minimum of three (3) years field supervisory experience at a construction company Preferred: A minimum of five (5) years supervisory experience at a construction company supervising projects greater than five ($5) million dollars Other Required: Current driver’s license to drive to and from the job sites.

Heavy Equipment Operator certification. Preferred: OSHA (30 Hour Outreach) and CPR certification Additional Information Competitive salary based on experience Full benefits package offered, including health insurance, life insurance, supplementary insurance, paid time off, and retirement.
