Greenville Independent School District Campus: Lamar Work Schedule: 187 Days Wage and Hour Status: Non-Exempt Reports to: Campus Principal Position Overview Greenville ISD is seeking an enthusiastic and student-centered STEM Aide to support engaging, hands-on learning experiences at the Lamar campus. The STEM Aide works collaboratively with teachers and campus staff to support instruction in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics while helping students develop curiosity, creativity, critical thinking, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.

This position assists with STEM activities, projects, technology, instructional materials, and student supervision while helping maintain a safe, organized, and engaging learning environment. Primary Purpose Assist teachers and campus staff in providing students with meaningful STEM learning experiences through hands-on activities, projects, technology, and instructional support.

Work with individual students and small groups, prepare instructional materials and equipment, and support a learning environment that encourages exploration, innovation, problem solving, and student engagement.

Qualifications

Education

and Certification High school diploma or GED required Meet applicable requirements for a Texas Educational Aide Certificate Ability to obtain a Texas Educational Aide Certificate with district assistance Successful completion of the Para. Skills Course through STEDI.org within 10 days of employment Greenville ISD will provide access to and pay for the required STEDI Para.

Skills Course Additional education or training in science, technology, engineering, mathematics, robotics, computer science, or a related field preferred Special Knowledge and Skills Interest in STEM education and hands-on student learning Ability to assist students with science, technology, engineering, and mathematics activities Ability to work effectively with individual students and small groups Ability to learn and assist with instructional technology, STEM equipment, applications, and materials Ability to follow teacher directions and established instructional plans Ability to organize materials, equipment, and learning spaces Ability to maintain a safe and orderly instructional environment Strong communication, organizational, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, staff, and students Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment Experience Experience working with children or students preferred Experience with STEM activities, robotics, makerspace activities, instructional technology, or project-based learning preferred Major Responsibilities and Duties Instructional and STEM Support Assist teachers with the implementation of STEM lessons, activities, projects, and learning experiences.

Work with individual students and small groups to reinforce concepts and skills introduced by the teacher. Support hands-on learning activities in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Assist students with problem-solving, design challenges, experiments, projects, and collaborative activities. Encourage student curiosity, creativity, perseverance, critical thinking, and responsible use of technology.

Reinforce classroom instruction and provide assistance based on individual student needs. Support project-based and inquiry-based learning activities as directed by the teacher. Assist students with the appropriate use of instructional technology and STEM resources. Materials, Equipment and Learning Environment Prepare, organize, distribute, and collect materials and equipment for STEM lessons and activities.

Assist with setting up and cleaning instructional areas before and after activities. Help maintain STEM materials, equipment, technology, and supplies in an organized and usable condition. Monitor supplies and notify appropriate staff when materials or equipment need to be replenished, repaired, or replaced. Assist students with the safe and appropriate use of STEM tools, equipment, technology, and materials.

Follow established safety procedures during experiments, projects, and hands-on activities. Help maintain an organized, engaging, and student-centered learning environment. Student Support and Supervision Provide appropriate supervision of students during instructional activities, transitions, projects, and other assigned activities.

Reinforce campus expectations for student behavior and responsible use of equipment and technology. Assist students in developing collaboration, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills. Support students who need additional assistance completing activities or understanding instructional concepts. Observe student performance and communicate relevant information to the teacher.

Promote positive relationships and encourage active participation by all students. Teacher and Campus Support Collaborate with teachers and campus staff to support instructional goals and student learning. Assist teachers with preparing instructional materials, displays, demonstrations, and student projects. Assist with STEM-related campus activities, showcases, competitions, clubs, family events, and special programs as assigned.

Provide clerical and organizational support related to STEM instruction as needed. Assist with maintaining student work, instructional resources, and classroom materials. Support campus initiatives and activities as assigned. Professional Responsibilities Maintain confidentiality of student and district information. Demonstrate professionalism, dependability, initiative, and positive interpersonal skills.

Participate in required district and campus training and professional development. Maintain required educational aide certification and training. Follow teacher direction, campus procedures, district policies, and safety requirements. Work cooperatively with students, teachers, administrators, families, and other employees.

Support Lamar campus and district goals and initiatives. Perform other duties as assigned by the Campus Principal. Supervisory Responsibilities Supervise students during assigned instructional activities and other campus activities under the direction of certified staff. No supervisory responsibility for district employees.

Working Conditions Physical Demands Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, kneeling, and movement throughout instructional areas. Frequent use of computers, instructional technology, STEM equipment, and classroom materials. Occasional lifting, carrying, setting up, and moving instructional materials, supplies, and equipment.

Environmental Factors Work primarily in classrooms, STEM learning spaces, laboratories, makerspaces, and other campus instructional areas. Frequent interaction with students and employees. May work with a variety of instructional tools, technology, equipment, and materials. Frequent interruptions and movement between instructional activities may occur.

Mental Demands Ability to follow detailed instructions and manage multiple tasks. Ability to respond appropriately to varying student needs and instructional activities. Ability to learn new technology, equipment, and instructional processes. Maintain confidentiality, emotional control, sound judgment, patience, and professionalism.
