Job Summary
The FF&E Specialist provides specialized expertise in furniture planning, procurement, coordination, and project delivery within the Interior Design practice. Working closely with Interior Designers, Project Managers, clients, consultants, and vendors, this role is responsible for translating design intent into functional, cost-effective, and implementable furniture and FF&E solutions from programming and design through procurement, installation, and project closeout.
The FF&E Specialist serves as a technical resource, manages furniture-related project scope, and helps ensure high-quality, coordinated project outcomes. The position is located in our Los Angeles, CA office. This position is eligible for hybrid (office/remote) working arrangement and flexible working hours; requires 3 days in the office and the ability to work from home Mondays and Fridays.
Responsibilities
Lead and coordinate FF&E scope, deliverables, and procurement activities for assigned projects. Develop furniture plans, layouts, specifications, schedules, and related project documentation. Coordinate with project teams, consultants, vendors, furniture dealers, and manufacturers throughout project delivery. Manage FF&E budgets, schedules, procurement timelines, and installation activities.
Review proposals, submittals, shop drawings, samples, and product substitutions for quality and compliance. Support client presentations, project pursuits, and business development efforts. Provide technical guidance and mentorship on furniture planning, specifications, and procurement processes. Participate in site observations, installation coordination, punch walks, and project closeout activities.
Requirements
Bachelor�s degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field, or equivalent experience. Minimum 7 years of experience in interior design, interior architecture, FF&E, furniture planning, procurement, or related project work. Strong knowledge of furniture planning, specifications, procurement, and project coordination.
Experience collaborating with clients, consultants, contractors, manufacturers, and vendors. Understanding of accessibility, ergonomics, furniture systems, and industry standards. Strong communication, organization, and project management skills. Proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, and Adobe Creative Suite.
Experience with healthcare, education, civic, workplace, or other complex project types preferred. The salary range for this position is $65,591 - $95,254. The actual salary offered for this position will vary depending on multiple factors including the candidate�s qualification, education, position knowledge, work experience, skills, ability, work location, and internal incumbent compensation for similar roles.
We do not anticipate individuals hired into this position will start at or near the top half of the range listed; the decision will be based on each individual case. The salary range listed above does not include other compensation elements such as discretionary bonus opportunities, employee stock ownership grants, paid time off, medical insurance, and other wage and benefit opportunities.
