Parish Office/Christian Service Secretary

PARISH OFFICE/CHRISTIAN SERVICE SECRETARY ST. EDITH CATHOLIC CHURCH POSITION DESCRIPTION St. Edith Catholic Church is a parish of 2,600 families with a grade school. The individual will have general clerical and administrative duties. This position requires strong interpersonal and collaborative skills and a willingness to work with staff and volunteers in all areas of parish life.

I.

Responsibilities

a. General clerical: Answer phones, greet and assist visitors in a welcoming manner, respond to inquiries, manage incoming and outgoing mail, respond to general email, proofread the bulletin b. Christian Service: Coordinate meal trains and volunteer sign-ups, provide administrative support for bereavement/funeral ministry; work with Parish Social Worker and volunteers to coordinate donation collections and support programs and events c.

Administration: Maintain accurate records for sacraments including Baptisms, First Communions, Confirmations, Weddings and Funerals. Manage parishioner databases such as registration updates, new members and contributions, process Mass intentions d. Work Hours: Maintains a flexible work schedule averaging 40 hours per week, including evenings, weekends and special events II.

Proficiency in using Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Parish Soft, Canva, Sign Up Genius b.
