Human Resources Officer
Job description
Serve as an objective, non-biased HR manager who holds all staff levels accountable to established organizational, dress code, and behavioral standards. Implement and enforce robust performance management systems to drive productivity across administrative, site, factory, and contract personnel. Establish formal Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), employee handbooks, and clear organizational hierarchies to streamline reporting lines and issue escalation.
Standardize internal and customer-facing communication channels, ensuring customer service and sales representatives maintain strict professional tone and confidence. Oversee formal disciplinary actions, grievances, and structured termination procedures, ensuring all corrective steps and remedies are fully exhausted. Organize, group, and execute internal staff development programs and large-scale training initiatives across physical and virtual platforms.
Bridge human resource operations between skilled factory/depot workers and unskilled contract laborers, adapting management strategies appropriately for each group. Structure, monitor, and evaluate performance-based expectations for potential hybrid or flexible work transitions following initial probationary periods. Drive end-to-end recruitment, internal onboarding, and structured check-in schedules to maximize staff retention.
Requirements
Must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, Personnel Management, or a related field (relevant HR certifications such as CIPM, SHRM, or HRCI are highly desirable). 3 to 5 years of proven experience as an HR Generalist or HR Manager, with demonstrated success managing both skilled administrative teams and unskilled factory or contract laborers.
Strong understanding of Nigerian labor laws, employee relations, formal termination protocols, and organizational structuring. Demonstrated competence in designing and delivering internal staff training modules and managing large participant groupings for organizational development programs. Highly proficient in utilizing modern administrative software, HRIS tools, digital reporting systems, and communication platforms.
Exceptional organizational and problem-solving skills, capable of establishing order, reporting lines, and accountability systems in a growing business environment. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the firmness required to uphold standards and the diplomacy required to manage diverse staff personalities.
