Job description
Role Overview The Senior Planning Engineer will lead production planning activities, optimize resource utilization, ensure delivery commitments, and drive continuous improvement in planning processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead preparation of Master Production Schedules (MPS).
- Perform capacity planning, machine loading, and manpower allocation.
- Ensure alignment of production plans with sales forecasts and customer delivery commitments.
- Monitor and control WIP levels, inventory planning, and material availability.
- Analyze and optimize lead times, routing, and BOM accuracy.
- Drive resolution of production bottlenecks and implement corrective actions.
- Conduct detailed Plan vs Actual variance analysis and improve schedule adherence.
- Ensure effective usage of ERP/MRP systems for production tracking and reporting.
- Coordinate closely with Stores for Raw Material planning and issue control.
- Generate advanced MIS & performance dashboards for senior management.
- Mentor junior planning engineers and streamline PPC processes.
Requirements
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of production planning & control
- Expertise in ERP systems (SAP / Oracle preferred)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Good understanding of manufacturing workflows
- Leadership and team coordination skills
