Congregate Nutrition Site Assistant

JOB SUMMARY

The Congregate Nutrition Site Assistant works closely with the Congregate Site Manager and may on occasion serve as the manager for the day in the absence of the Site Manager. Assists with all of the daily activities of the site in compliance with established policies.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Daily congregate meal and home delivered meal service, as required to ensure optimum participant safety, operational efficiency and overall quality Wellness service to include health education, fitness, social and recreational activities and special events Works with MEOC transit to arrange and coordinate transportation to and from the center, for shopping and any other special events, as requested by the Site Manager Helps to ensure that all center activities are conducted in compliance with established program policies and procedures Performs other duties, as requested by the Nutrition Services Program Director and/or the MEOC Executive Director Attends Agency meetings and training events as required ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: must be able to read, write and follow/dispense oral or written directions.

Strong communication skills and the ability to interact positively with elderly clients, their families and community service providers. Lifting, carrying and arranging items up to 30 pounds over short distance may be required on occasion.
