Job Summary
We are seeking a 2nd shift 2pm-10pm Registered Nurse to join our Health Services team. This role is responsible for providing direct medical care and oversight of healthcare services for children and adolescents in our residential treatment programs. The Registered Nurse will assist in medication administration, coordinate medical appointments, manage health documentation, and support staff in maintaining a safe and healthy environment.
The ideal candidate will be a compassionate and detail-oriented licensed nurse with experience in residential or behavioral health settings.
Key Responsibilities
Health Care & Medication Management Administer medications and perform medical treatments per physician orders and agency policy. Support the development and implementation of care plans and treatment goals. Coordinate medical appointments and ensure timely follow-ups for residents. Participate in weekly on-call rotations and respond promptly to medical emergencies.
Conduct health assessments for new admissions and maintain up-to-date health records. Supervisory & Departmental Collaboration Serve as the charge nurse in the absence of the Health Services Director. Assist in training, supervising, and mentoring infirmary and direct care staff. Monitor home visit medications, ensure proper documentation, and follow controlled substance procedures.
Attend weekly treatment team meetings, communicate health updates, and support interdisciplinary goals. Administrative & Compliance Ensure compliance with state licensing requirements and agency protocols. Assist in preparing monthly nursing education groups and health inservices for staff. Complete quarterly and discharge medical summaries, ensuring continuity of care for residents.
Participate in departmental budgeting, supply ordering, and record keeping. Schedule: Shifts are scheduled as determined by the Health Services Director. Flexibility is required, including participation in an on-call, weekend, and holiday rotation as necessary. Must be able to respond promptly to emergency situations.

Qualifications
Education
& Experience: Minimum of a high school diploma or GED. Current certification as a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the State of Indiana (Required) Current certification to perform first aid and CPR and to pass medication. Experience in special education, psychiatric, pr residential treatment setting with children and adults, particularly those with behavioral, cognitive, or emotional diagnoses, preferred.
CPR/First Aid Instructor certification highly desirable. Ongoing participation in in-service training is required.

& Attributes: Ability to maintain a calm and effective demeanor in emergency and stressful situations. Demonstrated ability to manage health needs in a residential setting Strong clinical judgment and communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to work independently and as part of a team to deliver high-quality dynamic healthcare.
Demonstrated ability to follow health and safety protocols and assist in medical procedures. Additional Requirements: Must be at least 21 years old . Must possess a valid Driver's License and have an acceptable driving record. Ability to implement approved physical intervention techniques when necessary.
