Carpenter - General Construction Division

Position Summary/General Description Responsible for layout, installation, repairing, finishing, and maintaining various structures, fixtures, and buildings. Other duties will include designing, cutting, and measuring materials according to a client's requirements. A successful applicant should be hardworking, reliable, and have good communication and organizational skills.

You must have completed an apprenticeship in carpentry or have equivalent experience in the field. Expectations Adhere to Evergreen Contractors Core Values, Policies & Procedures. Consistently reports to work on time prepared to perform duties of position.

Must have experience as general labor in the General Construction Industry. Must have the ability to access Federal Installations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Ability to read and interpret blueprints. Assisting supervisors with structural design, planning, layout, and installation. Conduct repair work and installation of doors, windows, drywall, cabinets, stairs, and other fixtures as required. Ability to assess the quality of woodwork and materials. Ability to operate tools, machines, and other equipment.

Compliance with local building codes, and health and safety regulations. Provide excellent customer service. Ability to stand for prolonged periods, climb, pull, and list heavy objects. Licensing and certification: Must have a valid driver’s license. High school diploma or GED. OSHA 10 Card or willingness to obtain one.

Completion of recognized apprenticeship or a minimum of 4 years’ experience as a Journeyman level Carpenter. Additional certification may be required. Essential Physical Requirements: The job requires the ability to balance/climb, bend over, crawl, crouch/stoop, drive, hear, kneel, reach overhead, sit, stand, talk, turn/twist, walk and repetitively use hands 51-10% of the time.

Essential Mental Demands: The job requires the ability to push pull/pull, carry, lift, and slide/transfer 1-50+lbs. 51-100% of the time. Work Environment: This job is performed indoors/outdoors with exposure to hot/cold temperatures, loud noises, and confined areas. Other Requirements: Must pass a pre-employment alcohol/drug screening.
