This role is primarily responsible for receiving deliveries, transporting inventory through airport security areas, and ensuring the restaurant stays fully stocked and organized while following all airport protocols.

About the Role

The Porter plays a critical operational role in keeping the restaurant supplied and running smoothly. This position focuses primarily on receiving shipments, organizing inventory, and transporting goods from the airport dock through security to the restaurant. Working in an airport environment requires strict adherence to airport safety, transportation, and security procedures, and this role is essential to ensuring that all materials move through the facility correctly and efficiently.

The ideal candidate is reliable, organized, physically capable, and comfortable following detailed procedures in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

Receiving & Inventory Movement

• Receive deliveries at the airport loading dock and verify orders for accuracy and completeness.
• Transport food, beverage, and operational supplies from the dock through airport security areas to the restaurant.
• Follow all airport security protocols and transportation procedures when moving goods through the facility.
• Ensure proper documentation and handling of all shipments. Inventory Organization
• Stock and organize inventory in designated storage areas.
• Assist with rotating stock and maintaining proper storage procedures.
• Keep storage areas clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards. Operational Support
• Assist restaurant staff with moving supplies and equipment as needed.
• Help maintain organization in back-of-house storage spaces.
• Support opening and closing operational needs when necessary. Facility Support
• Assist with general porter duties including maintaining clean work areas and removing waste or packaging materials from deliveries.
• Report any safety concerns, equipment issues, or inventory discrepancies promptly. Safety & Compliance
• Follow all airport safety procedures and restaurant operational guidelines.
• Maintain awareness of airport traffic, restricted areas, and security protocols.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous porter, warehouse, receiving, or inventory experience preferred.
• Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs regularly .
• Comfortable performing physically active work including pushing carts and transporting supplies.
• Valid driver’s license preferred.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Airport Security Requirement This position is located inside Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport and requires employees to obtain and maintain a SIDA (Security Identification Display Area) badge . All applicants must be able to pass a thorough background check and meet all airport security clearance requirements as part of the hiring process. These requirements are determined by the airport and federal regulations.
