Respiratory Therapist

Job Description Summary ‎ Hours & Location: Full Time: Monday-Thursday 8am-5pm; Fridays as needed 3406 Tamiami Trail, Port Charlotte, FL Specializes in the assessment and treatment of patients with cardiopulmonary disorders across assigned care settings. Administers respiratory care procedures and therapies, monitors breathing efficiency, evaluates patient response to treatment, and documents findings to support ongoing care planning.

Collaborates with providers and clinical teams to support safe, effective respiratory care for routine and moderately complex patient needs. Respiratory Therapist performs a range of clinical assignments under general supervision, applying working knowledge and growing experience to recognize patterns and identify when senior consultation is needed.

Decisions are made within established protocols and involve non-complex to moderately complex clinical situations. This job broadens clinical capabilities across routine case types and strengthens judgment through increasing experience in the discipline. ‎ How will you make an impact & Requirements ‎ Key Responsibilities

• Assess patients with cardiopulmonary conditions by reviewing clinical information, observing respiratory status, and collecting relevant measurements within scope of practice.
• Administer respiratory treatments, oxygen therapy, aerosol therapy, airway clearance techniques, and other ordered respiratory care procedures.
• Monitor patient response to respiratory interventions, including breathing patterns, oxygen saturation, breath sounds, and tolerance of therapy.
• Operate, check, and maintain respiratory therapy equipment according to clinical procedures, safety standards, and infection control requirements.
• Communicate patient status, treatment response, and changes in condition to providers, nurses, and other members of the care team.
• Document assessments, interventions, patient responses, and education in the medical record accurately and in a timely manner.
• Educate patients and caregivers on prescribed respiratory treatments, equipment use, breathing techniques, and follow-up care instructions.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Respiratory Care or completion of an accredited respiratory therapy program required; bachelor’s degree preferred; 2-4 years of respiratory therapy experience preferred.
• Active state respiratory care license required where applicable.
• Certified Respiratory Therapist or Registered Respiratory Therapist credential through the National Board for Respiratory Care required where applicable.
• Basic Life Support certification required; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support or Pediatric Advanced Life Support preferred based on care setting.
• Working knowledge of respiratory therapy procedures, cardiopulmonary assessment, oxygen delivery systems, and respiratory equipment.
• Ability to communicate clearly with patients, caregivers, providers, and clinical team members while maintaining accurate clinical documentation.

‎ Compensation Range: $26.35 to $41.72 The anticipated base salary range represents the Company's good-faith estimate of the compensation it reasonably expects to pay for this position at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, skills, qualifications, geographic location, internal equity, and business needs.
