  • Growth and development opportunities within the company The Opportunity Woodson Tree is seeking an experienced Area Manager to lead key operational, customer, and employee initiatives. Reporting to the VP of Operations, this role is responsible for supporting sales, employee training, production, employee management, and ongoing safety efforts. The Area Manager will help drive operational efficiency, strengthen customer relationships, develop employees, and maintain a strong focus on safety and service quality.

What You'll Do

  • Leverage technology to support utility requirements and streamline operational processes.
  • Participate in hiring, personnel management, corrective action, and ongoing employee professional development.
  • Cultivate new customer relationships while maintaining existing relationships, resolving customer concerns, and supporting overall customer satisfaction.
  • Develop proposals based on customer-specific requirements.
  • Develop and execute strategic plans based on customer requirements and organizational capabilities.
  • Manage operations and company resources to support efficiency and profitability.
  • Manage time and resources effectively across operational priorities.
  • Monitor equipment for safety and DOT compliance.
  • Continuously identify and implement opportunities to improve sales, productivity, and safety performance.
  • Participate actively and constructively in meetings and conference calls.

What We're Looking For

  • Minimum of five years of experience in right-of-way (ROW) tree work, utility vegetation management, line clearance, or a closely related field.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of tree care and vegetation management operations.
  • Strong communication, conflict-resolution, and relationship-building skills with employees and customers.
  • Ability to manage field operations, personnel, equipment, and resources effectively.
  • Ability to work long hours in a high-stress environment, including outside normal business hours when operational needs require.
  • Ability to operate and maintain tree service equipment, including chippers, cranes, chainsaws, and related equipment.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA safety standards and the ability to apply them on job sites.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Valid CDL.

Preferred Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
