Position Summary

The Underwriting Assistant, Primary Casualty is a team player performing tasks that directly support the Primary Casualty product line underwriters. The role focuses on front-to-end activities throughout the lifecycle of prospect accounts and renewal from submission to expiration. Although this role is open to candidates located anywhere in the United States, the selected candidate must maintain a work schedule aligned with Pacific Time business hours to effectively support West Coast stakeholders and teams.

These tasks will be performed with guidance from the Lead Underwriting Assistant, Casualty.

Responsibilities

Set up new & renewal business quotes for underwriters Prepare new & renewal business binders Interact with brokers for missing information Monitor various reports for consistency Policy issuance and endorsement processing Initiate and follow through with requests for missing information Assist in accounting procedures such as invoicing Processing Audits and Inspections Data entry into multiple SaaS systems Answer incoming calls Multi-task between projects Qualifications Minimum 3 years insurance underwriting support experience (agency or company) in Primary Casualty lines of business Strong written and verbal communication skills Expertise in Microsoft Office with an emphasis on Excel spreadsheets Excellent attention to detail High-level of motivation to get things done Willing to take on challenges Able to prioritize important and pressing tasks Innate organizational skills, and focus on personal responsibility Remote and limited in-office work environment
