High School Science Teacher

High School Science Teacher Multicultural Academy is seeking a dedicated, enthusiastic, and student-centered High School Science Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will create an engaging and supportive classroom environment that promotes scientific inquiry, critical thinking, and academic growth for all students.

Multicultural Academy serves a diverse student population, including many multilingual learners. We are looking for an educator who believes in high expectations for every student and is committed to helping students succeed academically and personally.

Key Responsibilities

Plan and deliver engaging, standards-aligned high school science instruction. Use hands-on activities, laboratory experiences, technology, and real-world applications to strengthen student learning. Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners, including English Learners and students requiring additional academic support.

Assess student learning regularly and use data to adjust instruction and provide interventions. Establish and maintain a safe, respectful, structured, and positive classroom environment. Collaborate with colleagues, instructional staff, special education staff, and school leadership. Communicate effectively with students, families, and staff regarding student progress.

Participate in professional development, staff meetings, school activities, and continuous improvement initiatives. Maintain accurate student records and fulfill all professional responsibilities in accordance with school policies and applicable requirements.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. Valid Michigan teaching certificate with an appropriate secondary science endorsement, or eligibility for appropriate certification. Strong knowledge of science content, instructional practices, and classroom management. Ability to work effectively with students from diverse cultural, linguistic, and academic backgrounds.

Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills. Commitment to the mission and values of Multicultural Academy.

Preferred Qualifications

Previous high school science teaching experience. Experience working with English Learners and culturally diverse student populations. Experience with differentiated instruction, student intervention, and data-driven instruction. Ability to teach multiple high school science courses is highly desirable.
