Operating with a high level of independence, they ensure that medications are provided in a safe and rational manner according to legal and professional standards. They are responsible for reviewing prescriptions, consulting with healthcare providers, supervising staff, and providing high-quality pharmaceutical care.

A typical day for a Pharmacist I may include: Manages the prescription workflow process, ensuring accurate data entry, insurance verification, documentation, and error-free prescription verification Abides by all insurance regulations and ensures only pharmacists handle professional consultations and new telephoned orders Evaluates critical medication issues like drug interactions and allergies using relevant clinical resources with intense attention to detail Operates the cash register (POS), verifies patient identities at pick-up, and manages the 14-day credit return process for the pick-up bin Consults professionally with physicians, nurses, and healthcare providers regarding medication therapy while delivering timely phone and customer service Maintains strict department security and stock integrity by adhering to CII to CV inventory controls and USP #800# regulations Monitors and logs daily refrigerator and ambient room temperatures as strictly required by the New Jersey Board of Pharmacy Executes Cardinal Express ordering, resolves discrepancies, signs CDS invoices, and optimizes inventory levels based on shelf usage Utilizes downtime efficiently to file prescriptions, check for outdates, and supervise or delegate tasks to pharmacy technicians Completes and documents clinical comprehensive medication reviews utilizing management software platforms such as Outcomes MTM and EQuIPP Administers immunizations to eligible patients based on site enrollment guidelines to support community health initiatives Reports all medication variances, adverse drug events, and any suspected theft or diversion of controlled dangerous substances (CDS) # This role might be for you if: Clear, compassionate communication defines how you interact with patients, families, and colleagues Attention to detail and clinical precision guide your work every day, understanding that errors have serious consequence You remain calm and highly adaptable while managing a fast-paced retail environment Patient safety, accurate drug evaluation, and delivering high-quality pharmaceutical care are your top priorities You enjoy working collaboratively with providers, nurses, and interdisciplinary care teams Continuous learning, inventory awareness, and operational efficiency motivate you Creating a positive, reassuring, and legally compliant patient experience is central to your approach # To be considered for this Pharmacist I opportunity: Graduate of a college of pharmacy accredited by the American Council on Pharmaceutical Education Must hold and maintain an active Pharmacist license/registration in good standing from the State of New Jersey A minimum of one year#s retail pharmacy experience is recommended Flexibility to work alternating and rotating work schedules (days, early evenings, and some weekends).
