• Bedford, TX, Position Type: Full Time, Education Level: High School Diploma/GED, Salary Range: Undisclosed, Job Shift: Day, Job Category: Other Positions, US Heart and Vascular is in need of a Medical Assistant to join our team at Heart. Place located in Bedford, TX Responsibilities:
• Records vital signs such as pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height in patients’ charts.
• Work with the medical assistant tech to ensure patients are roomed in a timely manner
• Operates electrocardiograph (EKG), treadmill, and other equipment to administer routine diagnostic test
• Fill out testing orders per physician
• Send out prescriptions per physician orders
• Orders & explain testing to the patient
• Gives injections or treatments and performs routine laboratory tests
• Set up procedures with hospitals to include filling out hospital form and faxing them back
• Review procedure and instructions with the patient
• Escort patients to check-out
• Check voicemails & enter messages into eCW• Return patient calls/tasks, to acknowledge receipt of the voicemail, and that an answer is being sought
• Ensure that charts have been checked, and the proper paperwork is included
• Travel required· Prepare bag for travel to satellite clinics
• Safeguard the privacy of patient health information
• Other related duties as assigned Requirements:
• Completion of a Medical Assistant program is required• Cardiac Experience is preferred but not required• Knowledge in medical terminology
