Natural Habitat Adventures accepts applications year-round from experienced operations support staff interested in supporting our small-group, multi-day trips. Our Field Staff play a central role in the guest experience and can span various roles.

They support creating safe, seamless, and meaningful multi-day journeys while creating a welcoming, inclusive group environment and providing attentive, personalized service. Our Field Staff span various roles and locations. See below for a list of Field Staff roles that we typically staff: Camp and Remote Lodge Roles Alaska Bear Camp : Camp Chef, Sous Chef, Camp Manager and Assistant Manager, Camp Assistant, Camp Facilities Lead; Must be able to legally work in the U.

S. with preference given to those who live in Alaska. Greenland Base Camp : Camp Chef, Camp Manager, Camp Assistant, Camp Facilities Lead; Preference given to those legally able to work in Greenland (including those from Nordic countries). Canada Tundra Lodge: Remote Lodge Chef, Remote Lodge Field Operations Support; Must be able to legally work in Canada.

Program Support Roles Yellowstone Programs: Field Operations Support; Must be able to legally work in the U.S. and live in Bozeman, MT or Jackson Hole, WY. Alaska Programs: Field Operations Support; Must be able to legally work in the U.S. with preference given to those who live in Alaska. Iceland Programs: Field Operations Support; Must be able to legally work in the Iceland, with preference given to those who live in Reykjavík.

Mexico Monarch Programs: Field Operations Support; Must be able to legally work in the Mexico. Arctic Canada Programs: Field Operations Support, Drivers, and Airport Greeters; Must be able to legally work in Canada and live in Winnipeg, Canada. Field Operations Support, Chefs and Sous Chefs; Must be able to legally work in Canada and willing to work in Churchill, Canada.

Location Requirements To support local communities and provide guests with authentic destination-specific knowledge and perspectives, we prioritize hiring Field Staff who live in the regions where we operate. Some opportunities require local residence and legal authorization to work in the destination. Applicants must meet these requirements to be considered.

Responsibilities

Specific responsibilities vary significantly by role, destination, and operational needs. Depending on the position, responsibilities may include: Guest Experience & Service Help create a welcoming, inclusive, and positive environment for Nat Hab guests. Provide attentive, professional service and respond thoughtfully to individual guest needs.

Interact with guests in a friendly and professional manner while representing Nat Hab’s standards and values. Support clear communication of relevant logistics, expectations, and changes to guests and fellow team members. Operations & Teamwork Support the safe, smooth, and efficient operation of Nat Hab trips, camps, lodges, transportation, or other field operations according to the responsibilities of the specific role.

Complete assigned duties reliably and to a high professional standard, which may include transportation, food service, housekeeping, camp operations, guest arrivals and departures, equipment management, logistics, or other operational support. Work collaboratively and respectfully with fellow Field Team members, Expedition Leaders, Nat Hab office staff, local partners, operators, and vendors.

Maintain clear, timely, and professional communication before, during, and after assignments. Be flexible and willing to assist with needs outside of primary responsibilities when appropriate to support the overall guest experience and operation. Safety, Problem Solving & Stewardship Prioritize guest and team safety and follow all safety procedures relevant to the role and destination.

Demonstrate sound judgment, adaptability, and calm problem-solving when plans or conditions change. Maintain a clean, organized, safe, and professional working environment appropriate to the position. Follow Nat Hab policies and operational standards, as well as applicable local laws and partner requirements. Treat guests, colleagues, local communities, cultural sites, wildlife, and natural environments with respect and care.

Qualifications

Experience & Skills Because Field Staff positions vary widely, specific qualifications will depend on the role. In general, successful candidates will demonstrate: Relevant professional experience, training, or education appropriate to the position for which they are being considered. Strong guest service and interpersonal skills, particularly for guest-facing roles.

Reliability, professionalism, organization, and attention to detail. The ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also completing responsibilities independently. Adaptability and sound judgment in dynamic travel and field environments. Strong communication and problem-solving skills. A positive, service-oriented approach and willingness to contribute wherever needed to support the team and guest experience.

Familiarity with the destination, local area, or type of operation is preferred or may be required for certain roles. Fluent English may be required depending on the position. Additional destination-relevant language fluency may be preferred or required. Role-specific professional experience, licenses, certifications, or technical skills may be required for certain positions.

Physical Requirements Able to work long hours for multiple consecutive days in physically and mentally demanding travel and field environments. Able to comfortably and reliably meet the physical requirements of the specific itinerary or itineraries for which you are applying. Specific physical requirements will vary by role and destination.

Required Credentials & Certifications Before their first scheduled trip, Field Staff must hold the following current credentials: Basic First Aid certification CPR certification Any licenses, permits, certifications, or accreditations required by local law, the applicable operator, or the specific destination Any required credentials will be communicated as part of the hiring process for a specific opportunity.

Unless otherwise specified, Field Staff are responsible for scheduling, completing, and covering the cost of required training and certifications. Scheduling & Availability Schedules vary significantly by role, destination, operating season, trip dates, and operational needs. Positions may be seasonal, trip-based, or available only during specific operating periods and are not necessarily full-time or full-season roles.

Field Staff should expect schedules that reflect the needs of the specific operation, which may include early mornings, evenings, long days, weekends, holidays, or multiple consecutive days of work. Preference may be given to applicants with flexibility throughout the applicable operating season. Shared accommodations with other Field Team members or Nat Hab office staff may be required based on the role, destination, and operational needs.

Compensation

& Support This is an independent contractor role. C ompensation structure, and rates vary by role, and destination and will be communicated for each specific opportunity. Nat Hab typically provides required transportation, lodging, and meals while on assignment, as well as branded gear.
