Description a { text-decoration: none; color: #464feb; } tr th, tr td { border: 1px solid #e6e6e6; } tr th { background-color: #f5f5f5; } Position Summary River City Surgery Center is seeking a skilled, dependable, and patient-focused Surgical Scrub Technician to join our ambulatory surgery team. The Scrub Tech plays a vital role in ensuring safe and efficient surgical procedures by maintaining a sterile field, preparing instruments and supplies, and assisting surgeons and nursing staff throughout the perioperative process.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Prepare operating rooms for surgical procedures by ensuring all necessary instruments, supplies, and equipment are available and functioning properly. Establish and maintain a sterile field throughout surgical procedures. Scrub, gown, and glove in accordance with infection prevention and sterile technique standards. Anticipate the needs of the surgeon and provide instruments, supplies, and equipment during procedures.

Perform sponge, needle, and instrument counts with the circulating nurse according to policy. Assist with patient positioning and preparation under the direction of the RN and surgeon. Handle specimens appropriately and ensure accurate labeling and documentation. Assist with room turnover and preparation between cases.

Clean, inspect, and prepare surgical instruments for sterilization and processing. Adhere to OSHA, HIPAA, AAAHC, and all infection prevention and safety standards. Participate in quality improvement initiatives, staff meetings, and continuing education.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED. Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program. Current Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification preferred. Current BLS Certification. Knowledge of aseptic technique, surgical instrumentation, and sterile processing procedures. Preferred: 1-2 years of surgical scrub experience in an ambulatory surgery center or hospital operating room.

Experience with pain management, orthopedic, spine, or interventional procedures. Knowledge of sterilization practices and infection prevention standards.
