Registered Nurse (RN)

As a Registered Nurse at the award-winning Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital, you will be an integral member of a patient-first, Magnet-designated healthcare team. You will provide direct patient care, assessing, planning, and evaluating treatments while collaborating with multidisciplinary professionals.

Key Responsibilities**

• Direct Patient Care:** Perform comprehensive assessments, administer prescribed medications, and implement individualized nursing care plans.

• Patient & Family Engagement:** Serve as the primary liaison between the patient, their families, and the medical staff, ensuring compassionate communication and education.

• Clinical Excellence:** Maintain accurate medical records, monitor vital signs, and respond promptly to changes in patient conditions.

• Safety & Quality:** Uphold the highest standards of patient safety and quality metrics, contributing to the hospital's reputation for exceptional patient satisfaction.

• Team Collaboration:** Work alongside Patient Care Technicians, Resource Nurses, and Unit Coordinators in a cohesive, fast-paced environment.

Qualifications**

• Education:** Degree or Diploma in Registered Nursing required. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or MSN preferred.

• Licensure:** Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse License in the state of Virginia.

• Certifications:** Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 90 days of hire. (Additional specialty certifications such as ACLS, PALS, or OCN may be required depending on the unit).

• Experience:** Both new graduates and experienced acute-care nurses are encouraged to apply.
