Cafeteria Worker

Job Description: The Cafeteria Food Service Worker is responsible for preparing, serving, and ensuring the quality of meals provided to students and staff in a timely, efficient, and sanitary manner. This role supports the overall food service operations within the cafeteria, maintaining compliance with health and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and serve food items according to established menus and portion sizes. Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the kitchen, serving areas, and dining space. Follow food safety guidelines and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently. Assist with inventory management, including receiving and storing food supplies.

Provide friendly and professional customer service to students, staff, and visitors. Work collaboratively with team members to ensure smooth cafeteria operations. Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to supervisors promptly.

Qualifications

Previous experience in food service or cafeteria work is preferred but not required. Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices. Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as lifting and carrying supplies. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
