Job description

What You Will Achieve The Sr. Manager, CX Research, within the CX Research department, plays a pivotal role in shaping colleague-centric product development within Pfizer Digital & Technology, reporting to the Director, CX Research. This role leads moderately complex qualitative research, experimentation, and usability studies, manages cross-functional collaborations, and translates colleague insights into actionable product recommendations.

This is a hands-on role: the Sr. Manager personally designs, executes, and analyzes research and experiments without reliance on external vendors, applies behavioral and telemetry data analysis to understand how colleagues actually work, and integrates AI into research workflows to move quickly from analysis to insight to action, all while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced, agile environment.

How You Will Achieve It Personally design, execute, and analyze qualitative and quantitative research studies end to end, including sampling, instrument design, and statistical analysis, without reliance on external vendors, to uncover pain points and workflows and to measure colleague sentiment, concerns, and readiness as AI tools are deployed across the organization.

Apply behavioral science frameworks (e.g., habit loops, nudge theory, behavior change models) to frame research questions and surface insights that open new directions for product and design; identify the concerns, skills gaps, and barriers that slow adoption and recommend support and enablement tactics that build colleague confidence.

Translate findings into actionable insights for product design and development, and develop a research-grounded strategic point of view that informs the change management campaigns, communication strategies, and adoption roadmaps owned by partner teams. Integrate AI into research workflows, using AI tools to accelerate study design, data collection, analysis, and synthesis while maintaining methodological rigor and quality; create frameworks to assess the success of AI prototypes and products, using GenAI tools for rapid prototype iteration, and evaluate emerging approaches such as synthetic personas and digital twins to extend, simulate, and pressure-test research.

Collaborate with product managers to prioritize features based on user impact and key performance indicators (KPIs), combining behavioral research with telemetry to explain the why behind the what and defining the experience indicators (CPIs) that track it. Manage multiple research projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment, balancing competing priorities while ensuring strategic alignment.

Mentor junior researchers and promote best practices. Advocate for customer-centric solutions within engineering teams, and build strong, strategic relationships with senior stakeholders to ensure alignment, trust, and collaboration on key business priorities. Set the standard for ethical and responsible AI use in research practice; stay current on emerging methods, LLM advancements, and tools and bring them into the team's ways of working.

Here Is What You Need (Basic Requirements) Bachelor's or Master's degree in Human-Centered Design, Psychology, Market Research, or a related field; background in a quantitative or statistical discipline. 7+ years with a Bachelor's or 5+ years with a Master's in CX, user experience (UX), or product research, including hands-on execution and delivery of studies.

Proficiency in qualitative research, experimentation, and usability methods, with a strong applied statistics foundation including experimental design, power analysis, and significance testing applied to behavioral and telemetry data. Hands-on researcher able to independently plan, field, and analyze qualitative studies, usability tests, and experiments without reliance on external vendors, using tools such as Python or R for behavioral and telemetry analysis, usability-testing platforms (e.

g., User. Zoom), and survey, statistical, or experience management software (e.g., Qualtrics, SPSS, Medallia) as needed. Experience integrating AI into research workflows, using AI-driven research and analytics tools, including emerging methods such as synthetic personas and digital twins, to accelerate the path from analysis to insight to action and improve the speed, scale, and quality of insights.

Ability to identify the key areas and questions for research to pursue, toggling between hands-on execution and shaping strategy with product leaders; experience building and articulating research-driven strategies and roadmaps from early opportunity framing through execution and measurement. Comfortable managing multiple concurrent priorities and delivering in a fast-paced, agile product development environment.

Ability to synthesize complex qualitative and behavioral data into compelling narratives, supported by clear data visualization. Bonus Points If You Have (Preferred Requirements) Experience applying behavioral insights in product design. Experience researching technology adoption, workplace change, or employee experience in a large enterprise, with working knowledge of change management principles and how to apply them.

Experience with evaluation and QA methods for AI-powered products or features. Strong project management, cross-functional leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills. PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS Standard office-based work. Ability to perform complex data analysis, synthesize large volumes of qualitative and quantitative information, and communicate findings clearly to varied audiences.

NON-STANDARD WORK SCHEDULE, TRAVEL OR ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS Occasional travel may be required (up to 10%).
