Key Responsibilities
Drive the technology vision, architecture, engineering standards and delivery strategy for the Corporate Internet Banking Platform, ensuring alignment with business goals and enterprise architecture principles. Provide technical leadership across all domains including Payments, Accounts, Entitlements, Notifications, Approvals, Dashboard and Shared Services.
Ensure consistent adoption of architecture patterns, engineering standards and delivery practices. Lead architecture reviews, design reviews and code quality governance to ensure secure, scalable, resilient and maintainable solutions across the platform. Work closely with business stakeholders, product owners, architects and delivery teams to translate business requirements into scalable technology solutions and implementation roadmaps.
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to domain leads, architects, engineering managers and development teams throughout the SDLC. Drive engineering excellence through adoption of Microservices Architecture, Event-Driven Architecture, API-First Design, Micro Frontends (MFE), Dev. Sec. Ops, CI/CD and cloud-native development practices.
Ensure seamless integration across Accounts, Payments, Notifications, Entitlements, Approvals and Shared Services while maintaining consistent customer journeys and platform standards. Lead the adoption of AI-assisted software engineering tools including Claude Code, Gemini CLI, GitHub Copilot and Agentic AI platforms.
Establish governance and quality controls around AI-generated code and engineering practices. Establish engineering governance covering architecture reviews, coding standards, release management, platform resiliency, security, observability and production readiness. Drive continuous improvement in engineering productivity, software quality and delivery speed across the platform.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology or equivalent discipline. Minimum 15 years of software engineering experience with at least 8 years in senior technology leadership roles within banking or financial services. Strong experience delivering Corporate Internet Banking, Transaction Banking, Cash Management, Payments or Digital Banking platforms.
Proven experience leading large engineering organizations responsible for architecture, design, development and delivery of enterprise-scale applications. Hands-on experience with: Java Spring Boot Spring Cloud REST APIs Kafka / Event Streaming Platforms SQL and NoSQL Databases Docker Kubernetes Strong understanding of Micro Frontend (MFE) architecture, frontend integration patterns and modern web application frameworks.
Deep expertise in Microservices Architecture, Event-Driven Architecture, API-First Design, Domain Driven Design (DDD), Dev. Sec. Ops and Cloud-Native Platforms. Strong understanding of banking workflows including Payments, Accounts, Entitlements, Approvals, Notifications, Audit Trails and Transaction Lifecycle Management.
Experience leading architecture governance, code quality reviews, engineering transformation and enterprise-wide technology modernization initiatives. Hands-on experience with: Jenkins GitHub / Bitbucket Sonar. Qube JIRA Confluence Strong understanding of cloud-native deployment practices. Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to engage senior business and technology leaders.
Experience with AI-assisted software engineering tools including Claude Code, Gemini CLI, GitHub Copilot, Agentic AI platforms and AI-driven code review solutions. Experience in Agile software delivery methodologies including Scrum, Kanban and DevOps operating models. Relevant certifications in Cloud, Architecture, Security, Agile or AI Engineering are an added advantage.
