About the Role

The Senior Engineer – Technical Focus plays a critical role in designing, developing, and maintaining advanced technical solutions within the finance and insurance sector. This position requires leading complex engineering projects that enhance system performance, security, and scalability to meet evolving business needs.

The role involves collaborating closely with cross-functional teams including product management, risk, and compliance to ensure technical solutions align with regulatory requirements and industry standards. The Senior Engineer will also mentor junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field. At least 5 years of professional experience in software engineering or systems engineering within finance or insurance industries. Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, C++, or Python. Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and agile methodologies.

Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and containerization technologies. Knowledge of security best practices and regulatory compliance relevant to finance and insurance.

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree in a technical discipline or business administration. Professional certifications such as CISSP, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, or PMP. Experience with big data technologies and machine learning applications in finance. Familiarity with DevOps practices and automation tools like Jenkins, Docker, and Kubernetes.

Demonstrated leadership experience managing engineering teams or projects.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and implement robust software and infrastructure solutions tailored to finance and insurance applications. Lead technical project planning, including requirements gathering, architecture design, and resource allocation. Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure solutions comply with regulatory standards and internal policies.

Conduct code reviews, performance tuning, and security assessments to maintain high-quality deliverables. Mentor and guide junior engineers, promoting best practices and knowledge sharing within the team. Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues in production environments promptly. Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends to recommend innovative solutions.
