As an Assistant Teacher at the Spring Grove YMCA (1472 Roths Church Rd, Spring Grove, PA), you’ll help power a high-energy Child Development classroom where safety comes first and every moment can spark growth. Pay is $15-$17/hour, with weekday shifts between 6:30 AM and 5:30 PM.

Key responsibilities

• Support early childhood curriculum planning and lead engaging activities and routines
• Supervise children and classroom flow, including ADA accommodations as needed
• Use positive guidance, behavior management, and child development principles
• Complete systematic observations/assessments and maintain required records
• Partner with families through clear parent communication and engagement
• Follow safety/emergency procedures plus infection control and hand-washing protocols

Required qualifications/skills:

• Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED; Mandated Reporter training
• State Police/Child Abuse/NSOR/FBI clearances
• Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills

You arrive to a bright, busy building and jump into the rhythm of the morning-greeting kids and families, helping the room get set, and keeping the pace upbeat as the day unfolds. Midday brings hands-on learning moments, quick resets between activities, and check-ins with your lead teacher to keep plans on track. Throughout the afternoon, you’ll stay alert and calm as energy rises, share quick updates with parents at pickup, and wrap up by tidying materials so the next day starts strong.

Location: Spring Grove YMCA. Schedule runs Monday-Friday with shifts that vary within 6:30 AM-5:30 PM.

• Obtain a State Police, Child Abuse, NSOR and FBI certifications in addition to a negative Mantoux TB test and a physical.
