This includes process measurement, control valves, analyzers, gas-detection systems, fire-and-gas systems, emergency shutdown systems, PLCs, SCADA interfaces, and related regulatory and measurement equipment. The technician maintains accurate configuration and calibration records and may train or assist less-experienced technicians.
There is one position available that will be filled at the commensurate level with the successful candidate’s knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Responsibilities
Inspect, test, service, troubleshoot, repair, configure, calibrate, and install indicating, recording, protective, and automatic control instruments used in LNG storage, transfer, liquefaction, vaporization, and send-out systems. Maintain flow meters, pressure and temperature transmitters, level instruments, control valves, regulators, analyzers, gas-detection devices, fire-and-gas systems, emergency shutdown systems, and related components.
Identify causes of defective instrument or control-system performance, report findings to the supervisor, and repair or replace component parts as required. Use portable pressure gauges, manometers, loop calibrators, multimeters, communicators, test gases, and similar diagnostic equipment. Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on instrumentation, control systems, and associated equipment.
Verify instrument readings, perform functional and calibration testing, and accurately document maintenance, environmental, and compliance data. Troubleshoot complex and detailed instrumentation, programmable logic controller (PLC), supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA), and safety-instrumented system interfaces.
Perform required technical and engineering support functions for control-loop modifications, alarm changes, instrument replacements, and system improvements. Maintain drawings, loop sheets, calibration records, equipment histories, and configuration documentation related to instrumentation and controls. Support commissioning, startup, shutdown, inspections, and functional testing of instrumentation, control loops, alarms, interlocks, and protective systems.
Serve as project lead for control-system upgrades and modifications, as assigned. May train and guide less-experienced Instrument Technicians and operations personnel.
