Job Title: Logistic Manager – CASSITY JONES BUILDING MATERIALS TYLER Job Overview: We are seeking a highly organized and skilled Logistic Manager to oversee the efficient functioning of our lumberyard's logistics and warehouse operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership qualities, excellent communication skills, and a proven track record in managing logistics, transportation, and warehouse activities.

The Logistic Manager will play a key role in optimizing processes, enhancing productivity, and ensuring the timely delivery of lumber products to our customers.

Responsibilities

Logistics Management: Plan, coordinate, and optimize transportation routes for the timely delivery of lumber products to customers. Manage a fleet of drivers, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and efficient utilization of resources. Work closely with suppliers, carriers, and internal teams to streamline logistics operations.

Warehouse Operations: Oversee the day-to-day activities of the warehouse, including receiving, storing, and shipping lumber products. Implement and enforce best practices for inventory management, ensuring accurate and efficient stock control. Collaborate with the warehouse team to maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment.

Team Leadership: Lead, motivate, and develop a team of drivers and warehouse staff. Conduct regular training sessions to enhance the skills and knowledge of the logistics and warehouse teams. Foster a positive and collaborative work culture, promoting teamwork and accountability. Reporting and Documentation: Generate and analyze reports related to logistics and warehouse performance.

Maintain accurate records of inventory levels, shipments, and warehouse activities. Provide regular updates and insights to the Operations Manager and General Manager. Vendor and Stakeholder Management: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with vendors, suppliers, and other stakeholders in the supply chain. Negotiate and review contracts, ensuring favorable terms for the lumberyard.

Requirements

Proven experience in logistics, transportation, and warehouse management, preferably in the lumber or construction industry. Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively manage and inspire a diverse team. In-depth knowledge of logistics and warehouse processes, regulations, and industry best practices.

Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities. Proficient in using logistics and inventory management software. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written. Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is preferred. Class A or B CDL license is preferred. Reporting Structure: The Logistic Manager will report directly to the General Manager.
