Job description
HOUSEMAN The Catering Houseman at Dickie Brennan’s Catering at Audubon is a varied-hour full-time position to oversee and execute the daily maintenance of the venue, care of event resources, as well as support for other departments as directed by leadership.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Welcome and greet each guest, making eye contact and presenting a genuine smile. Ensure a clean and organized preparation area at all times. Assist with event set-ups as needed. Maintain back of house areas continuously throughout the shift. Meet and exceed the highest standards of cleanliness of the property in all areas.
Maintain a strong professional presence, promptly arriving to work as scheduled. Adhere to all Uniform Standards. Communicate effectively with guests and other team members. Display integrity and honesty in all aspects of employment. Work efficiently and productively to complete required tasks within assigned time frame.
Attend and participate in all mandatory employee meetings/ training sessions. Exceed guests’ expectations with a positive attitude. Communicate well with other team members throughout service while exhibiting good teamwork skills Able to give and receive direction well Demonstrate leadership skills and lead by example Practice safety and good sanitation habits at all times Handle food and equipment properly and respectfully Maintains an awareness of and follows Company standards at all times Other duties as assigned REQUIREMENTS: High school graduate or equivalent; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum one year housekeeping or warewashing experience preferred. Constant adequate range of motion and mobility required. Manual dexterity is essential. Must possess finger dexterity to use housekeeping and hardware supplies effectively. Able to converse, read and write in English with excellent verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills.
Must be able to work varied hours/days, including evenings, weekends and holidays. Work some long hour shifts between breaks or meals. May be exposed to high, medium, or low noise intensity. Ability to read, count, and write to accurately complete all documentation, including weights and measurements. Subject to wet or slippery floors, temperature extremes/frequent changes in temperature, and excessive noise.
Able to work in hot temperatures and freezer/cooler areas for extended periods of time. Must be able to stand for long periods of time, bend, stoop, reach, crouch, kneel, lift, push and pull. Properly lift up to 50- 75 pounds; push, pull or move items weighing up to 100 pounds Must adhere to the established appearance, hygiene, and uniform guidelines Ability to adhere to and comply with all rules and regulations of the company General Comments: This description is intended to describe the essential job functions and their requirements.
