Physician Assistant – Ophthalmology Albemarle Eye Center in Elizabeth City and Kitty Hawk, North Carolina Albemarle Eye Center is seeking a Physician Assistant (PA-C) to join our growing ophthalmology team in Elizabeth City and Kitty Hawk, North Carolina. This is an exciting opportunity for a PA-C interested in ophthalmology, surgical care, and procedural medicine to work directly alongside an experienced, high-volume ophthalmic surgeon and develop a highly specialized clinical skill set.

The PA will participate in patient evaluations, diagnostic testing, office-based procedures, pre- and post-operative care, and surgical support. Specialty training and direct physician mentorship will be provided through a structured onboarding program. Clinical responsibilities and training may include: Post-operative examinations following cataract surgery, LASIK/PRK, YAG capsulotomy, and other ophthalmic procedures Management of post-operative medications and treatment plans Patient education regarding surgical recovery, medications, restrictions, warning signs, and follow-up care Histories and physical examinations within PA scope of practice Femtosecond laser-related patient care, preparation, and procedural support Ophthalmic examinations and diagnostic testing Office-based procedures and surgical support Qualifications Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program Current Physician Assistant license in North Carolina or eligibility for North Carolina licensure Must be willing to obtain and maintain Virginia licensure as required New graduates are welcome and encouraged to apply Ability to travel between our Elizabeth City and Kitty Hawk, North Carolina locations, with the potential for occasional travel to our surgery center in Virginia.
