Job description

About the Role

The Stress Engineer plays a critical role in ensuring the structural integrity and performance of engineering designs, particularly in the aerospace and automotive industries. This position involves conducting detailed stress analysis using advanced computational tools to predict how materials and structures will behave under various loads and conditions.

The Stress Engineer will collaborate closely with design teams to provide insights that inform design decisions and optimize performance. By identifying potential failure points and recommending design modifications, the Stress Engineer contributes to the safety and reliability of the final product. Ultimately, this role is essential for delivering high-quality engineering solutions that meet stringent industry standards and client expectations.

Job Responsibilities

Conduct finite element analysis (FEA) using Nastran to evaluate the stress and strain on components under various loading conditions. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and provide input on design modifications based on stress analysis results. Prepare detailed reports and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders.

Perform material property assessments and evaluate the performance of composite materials in structural applications. Continuously improve analysis methodologies and tools to enhance the accuracy and efficiency of stress evaluations.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field. Proven experience in stress analysis and finite element methods, particularly with Nastran. Strong understanding of material properties and behavior, especially in composite materials.

Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree in a relevant engineering discipline. Experience with additional analytical tools and software related to stress analysis. Familiarity with industry standards and regulations pertaining to structural integrity. Skills The required skills, such as proficiency in Nastran and finite element analysis, are utilized daily to perform complex simulations that predict how structures will respond to various forces.

Stress analytical skills are essential for interpreting results and making informed recommendations to improve designs. Knowledge of composites is particularly valuable as it allows the engineer to assess the unique properties and behaviors of these materials in real-world applications. Additionally, strong communication skills are necessary for effectively presenting findings to team members and stakeholders.

Preferred skills, such as familiarity with industry standards, enhance the engineer's ability to ensure compliance and safety in all engineering solutions. This is Requirement for requisition
