Patient Dining Associate
Job description
Default Work Shift: Varies (United States of America) Hours: 24 Salary range: $19.28 - $28.54 Schedule: Part Time Shift Hours: 8 Hour employee Department: Dietary Job Objective: Responsible for taking patient meal orders and ensuring the timely and accurate assembly and delivery of meals according to patient diet restrictions and preference.
Job Description: Education: Required: N/A Preferred: Courses taken in Nutrition Licensure/Certification: Required: Current Riverside County Food Handler’s Card or Serve Safe Certificate Experience: Preferred: Restaurant or food service experience; experience with therapeutic diets Reports To: Manager or Director Supervises: N/A Ages of Patients: Pediatric, Adolescent, Adult, Geriatric Blood Borne Pathogens: Minimal/ No Potential Skills, Knowledge, Abilities: Ability to communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others, Ability to follow instructions, Ability to read and write English Essential Responsibilities
- Demonstrates compliance with Code of Conduct and compliance policies and takes action to resolve compliance questions or concerns and report suspected violations.
- Explains the patient menu to our patients following standard scripting guidelines.
- Assists patients in selecting meals offering alternatives when appropriate.
- Ensures meal choices are appropriate for Physician prescribed diet.
- Informs patient of physician prescribed diet, escalates patient concerns to Dietitians as appropriate.
- Provides patient with basic information regarding dietary restrictions when taking meal order.
- Prepares and delivers patient meals in efficient and timely manner.
- Ensures patient has everything for their meal prior to leaving the room.
- Follows proper safety procedures related to food service equipment and knives.
- Follows proper safety procedures related to preparation and holding of foods.
- Attends all required Inservice training.
- Reports equipment problems immediately to manager.
- Maintainins and updates patient nutrition profiles and communicates details to the appropriate Patient Dining Associate.
- Follows regulated hygiene standards.
- Maintains stock levels, cleans and sanitizes assigned area.
- Maintains knowledge of nourishment requirements.
- Learns and follows standards regarding portion sizes.
- Keeps work area clean, organized and sanitized.
- Follows food safety guidelines.
- Reports any patient complaints/concerns immediately to supervisor or manager.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
