Construction Accounting Specialist

Location: Chicago, IL Introduction Epstein is seeking a Construction Accounting Specialist to join our Accounting team in Chicago. This is a great opportunity for an accounting professional with 1-3 years of construction accounting experience who enjoys working in a collaborative, project-driven environment and wants to contribute to impactful, high-quality work.

What You’ll Do Prepare, review, and process client billings and invoices in a timely manner Manage subcontractor payments and maintain accurate, up-to-date financial records Assist in preparing project financial reports and analyzing variances Collaborate with project managers and internal teams to ensure financial accuracy and alignment Maintain organized, detailed, and compliant accounting documentation Track and manage retainage, lien waivers, and contract compliance documentation Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements What We’re Looking For Bachelor’s degree in accounting 1-3 years of accounting experience, preferably in the construction industry Problem-solving mindset and ability to spot discrepancies Strong communication and collaboration skills Highly organized with strong attention to detail Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Preferred:

• Experience with Procore and Deltek Vantage. Point

• Educational assistance Compensation Individual compensation is determined by several factors, including education, experience, training, qualifications, skill sets, licensure/certifications, and location. Employees are also eligible for discretionary annual bonuses based on both company and individual performance. The salary range for this position is $65,000 – $80,000 annually.
