Senior Director of Corporate Development
Job description
Job Requirements Senior Director of Corporate Development Summary: The Senior Director of Corporate Development is responsible for executing the Company's inorganic growth agenda — sourcing, evaluating, negotiating, and executing acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, and de novo partnership opportunities across the dialysis platform.
The Senior Director manages transactions from pipeline development and valuation through diligence, definitive documentation, and integration, working in close partnership with Finance, Legal, Operations, Compliance, and Human Resources to ensure each deal is underwritten accurately and integrated successfully.
Essential Functions
Provides leadership to the corporate development function, fosters a culture of continual improvement, supports employee growth and succession planning efforts, and creates an atmosphere of engagement, congeniality, accountability, and respect. Partners with the CGO to develop the annual inorganic growth plan and executes against acquisition, divestiture, and de novo targets.
Updates and manages the M&A pipeline — identifying and cultivating acquisition targets, divestiture candidates, and joint venture partners, including direct outreach to physician owners, independent operators, and health systems. Develops valuation and deal structure in partnership with Finance — building and pressure-testing financial models, underwriting assumptions, and return analyses, and presenting investment recommendations to the CGO and executive leadership, and supporting board presentations as needed.
Coordinates cross-functional due diligence and closing — working with Finance, Legal, Operations, Compliance, and Human Resources through diligence workstreams, issue resolution, definitive agreements, regulatory and licensure requirements, and closing conditions. Supports post-close integration and value capture, partnering with Operations and HR on transition planning, staff onboarding, and systems conversion, and tracking realized performance against the deal model.
Maintains market and competitive intelligence on dialysis consolidation, valuation trends, and transaction activity, and supports new projects and initiatives as business needs change and strategy evolves.
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business, or related field. MBA or applicable advance degree strongly preferred. 10-12 years of progressive experience in mergers and acquisitions, corporate development, or transaction advisory, with a minimum of 5 years in a leadership capacity; healthcare services experience strongly preferred.
Demonstrated experience sourcing, negotiating, and executing acquisitions, divestitures, and joint ventures, including post-close integration. Strong financial modeling, valuation, and deal-structuring skills, with working knowledge of definitive agreements and healthcare regulatory and licensure considerations. Superior interpersonal skills with proven track record of developing and maintaining positive relationships.
Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams without direct authority and to influence senior leaders and external counterparties. Ability to travel up to 20%, including overnight travel as needed.
