Job Summary

Approved Fire Protection & Security is looking for full-time experienced Systems Service Technicians. This is a great opportunity for someone who can inspect, service, and repair commercial kitchen suppression systems, fire alarm systems, and fire suppression systems. Minimum experience required: kitchen suppression, fire alarm, and fire suppression systems.

Sprinkler system experience is preferred. Candidates should be mechanically and technically inclined and possess the ability to diagnose and repair any reported problems.

• Perform inspections, testing, service, and repairs of commercial kitchen suppression systems.
• Perform inspections, testing, service, and repairs of fire alarm systems, including panels, initiating devices, and notification devices.
• Perform inspections, testing, service, and repairs of fire suppression systems.
• Troubleshoot system faults and trouble signals, and complete repairs on site.
• Follow safety procedures and guidelines.
• Ability to lift, carry and move equipment and materials that can weigh approximately 20 to 100 pounds.
• Must be able to use ladders and lifts.
• Generate correctly and legibly inspection certificates and related paperwork.
• General knowledge of NFPA 72 (fire alarm) and NFPA 17A and 96 (kitchen suppression).
• Develop positive and ongoing relationships with customers to ensure satisfaction.
• Must be able to participate in emergency call rotation.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with sprinkler system inspection and repair.
• Manufacturer certifications for kitchen suppression systems (such as Ansul or Amerex).
• Current possession of (or willingness to obtain) a NICET certification in Fire Alarm Systems. Familiarity with common fire alarm panel brands. Ability to read and understand blueprints and system drawings. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Proactive in communicating and working with other departments. Ability to pass pre-employment background and random drug tests. Enjoy working in a team environment and providing excellent customer service. Willing to obtain a CDL license Required Qualifications:
• Hands-on field experience with commercial kitchen suppression systems.
• Hands-on field experience with fire alarm systems.
• Hands-on field experience with fire suppression systems.
• Valid driver's license and excellent driving record.
• Must be willing to travel throughout our service area (NJ, NY, and PA) as required to customer sites.
