Position Title: International Finance Director Location: Shannon Reporting to: Chief Financial Officer, US Position Summary: The International Finance Director will be responsible for overseeing the accounting teams within the company’s international subsidiaries, comprising 10 individuals, including 3 direct reports.
This role ensures the timely and accurate completion of monthly financial close processes across all subsidiaries. Additionally, the International Finance Director will manage compliance with tax regulations and statutory reporting requirements across multiple jurisdictions, working in collaboration with local teams and external audit and tax service providers.
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, this position will play a key role in implementing financial processes that align with the company’s global accounting policies and adhere to both U.S. GAAP and local GAAP standards. The International Finance Director will also be responsible for identifying and leading initiatives to enhance and streamline financial operations, driving efficiency and process improvements across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the international team’s execution of month-end close, including managing work allocation and meeting deadlines. This will also include reviewing journal entries, reconciliations and reporting packages submitted to the US-based head office. Lead the international general accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable and collections, Inventory, payroll, treasury and cash functions.
Manage an international team of 10 individuals (4 in Ireland, 5 in China, 2 in Manilla), including establishing goals and expectations and reviewing performance in recurring formal and informal evaluations. Partner with internal and external teams to comply with tax, transfer pricing, statutory reporting and other requirements in our international entities.
Build and maintain/monitor a comprehensive calendar of compliance and tax filings for all international subsidiaries. Monitor the calendar to ensure the company stays on track with deadlines. Coordinate and facilitate efficient and timely completion of annual financial audits. Oversee compliance with statutory tax requirements (sales, VAT/GST, payroll, corporate tax) and Intrastat and VIES reporting.
Perform technical accounting research, particularly on topics related to local entity GAAP, leveraging external advisers as needed. Carry out various monthly analyses, projects and ad-hoc requests in support of our global finance and accounting function. Promote and uphold a positive team culture. Lead, mentor and develop the finance team, ensuring alignment with the company goals.
Lead and shape the development and rollout of analytical accounting. Foster a culture of collaboration and excellence across finance. Stretch for continual improvements in our routines and processes – challenge the status quo and drive changes needed to realize efficiencies in those processes. Direct projects with the international accounting teams and standardize processes across all jurisdictions to align with global policies and procedures.
Establish accounting and financial reporting capabilities in subsidiaries in any new areas we may enter, ensuring compliance with local tax and regulations. Please note that areas of responsibility may vary, change and/or develop dependent on the business requirements of ZAGG International.
Education
Fully Qualified Accountant (ideally trained in Big 4 / Top 10) 10+ total years relevant work experience, preferably within multinationals or fast-growing organizations 5+ total years, experience managing people and larger teams to high standards Experience with multinational entities handling statutory compliance Exceptional abilities with managing projects, data analysis, and improving processes Strong analytical accounting experience Knowledge of Great Plains a plus / previous experience working with different accounting packages Strong IT skills, MS Excel, Word, Financial Modeling & PowerPoint Strong communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills A competitive remuneration and benefits package will be on offer to successful candidate.
