Job Summary

The job of Paraprofessional I is done for the purpose/s of providing support to the educational process within assigned classroom or fine arts settings with specific responsibility for working with individual and/or small groups of students; delivering group and individual student instruction within established curriculum/program guidelines; collaborating with other teachers, other professional staff, and administrators in addressing instructional and/or classroom issues; monitoring and reporting student progress regarding behavior and performance; and providing clerical support to teacher/s and staff.

This job is distinguished from similar jobs by the following characteristics: Paraprofessionals provide general classroom support, tutoring, and clerical support to one or more teachers. This job reports to Assigned Administrator/Manager Requirements / Qualifications Experience: Job related experience is not required in working with students in a classroom or equivalent environment.

Education

(Minimum): High school diploma or equivalent. Equivalency: Applicant is required to have two years of college (48) units, or an Associates degree or higher, or pass a local assessment of knowledge and skills.
