School-Based Clinical Therapist

Job description
Summary: The School Based Mental Health Therapist is responsible for providing diagnostic assessments, counseling, supportive services and case management to students and families; The therapist will maintain a caseload that includes children/adolescents ages 8-17, or a combination of both in the designated School. Primary Job Responsibilities: Provides mental health services and programs that foster pro-social skills and appropriate behavior Identifies the mental health and behavioral needs of students Develops and implements treatment plans Conducts clinical interviews, assessments, observations, and writes clinical reports Provides individual, group, and family therapy services either in the school or in the home Reviews referrals of students who need intensive mental health services Makes recommendations for behavioral health therapy services Provides support in the development of behavior support plans Maintains and facilitates communication with families and school personnel.
Education/Experience: Master’s Degree in a Human Services related field. Must be licensed in the District of Columbia in one of the following licenses (LG, LGPC, LGSW, LPC, LCSW, LICSW, LMFT or Psychologist. Two years minimum of direct-care clinical services with individuals with mental health diagnoses. Competencies: Do the Right Thing – Doing what’s right starts with integrity.
