About the role

We’re looking for an experienced infrastructure engineer to join the Compute & Storage workstream for a major Critical National Infrastructure virtualisation programme, supporting Low-Level Design authoring through to build and commissioning of a dual-site VMware Cloud Foundation / vSAN platform.

Requirements

Hands-on production experience with VMware v. Sphere and vSAN (ideally vSAN ESA specifically), including cluster design, RAID/FTT policy, and encryption configuration Experience with HPE Pro. Liant server hardware — deployment, firmware management, iLO configuration Understanding of enterprise backup and DR concepts and hands-on experience with an enterprise backup platform (Rubrik experience specifically is a strong plus) Working knowledge of Windows Server infrastructure (Active Directory, PKI/AD CS, RDS) to the extent needed to coordinate with an Identity workstream Ability to author and review technical design documentation (LLDs, Diagrams, build guides, configuration standards) to a high, audit-ready standard Comfortable working within a regulated, security-conscious environment and able to engage confidently with customer stakeholders and third-party vendors
