We provide the highest-quality pathology services to physicians, physician groups, ambulatory surgery centers, and hospitals across the region. We are seeking an experienced Specimen Collector in Tyler, TX. 75701 Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8 am to 5 pm. NO WEEKENDS! Facilitate the collection, processing, handling, and shipping of urine and oral fluid specimens Follow policies and procedures to correctly identify the patient Properly label specimens and complete the requisition form via paper or online portal Follow policies and procedures to properly package and ship specimens Demonstrate customer service & compassion when interacting with patients, physicians, and clinic staff Communicate with, understand, and react effectively to a diverse patient population base Follow universal precautions and all OSHA standards when handling specimens Strictly adhere to HIPAA guidelines Inform Supervisor of daily tasks, unusual problems or deviations from established procedures Adhere to all Standard Operating Procedures of Sagis while working at the physician’s office Pick-up, package and ship the specimens when needed Qualifications: High-school or equivalent required Minimum 1 year of specimen collector experience preferred Ability to follow written and verbal instructions Excellent customer service skills required Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite required Proficient in data entry required Urine Drug Screening (UDS) collection experience highly preferred Clean driving record and valid driver license required Reliable mode of transportation required Supervisory Responsibility: This position has no supervisory responsibilities Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in a clinic/medical office/lab setting Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job Why Join Sagis?
