Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled MSSQL Engineer with 5 years of hands-on experience in Microsoft SQL Server database administration. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the performance, availability, security, and reliability of MSSQL databases supporting business-critical applications.

Key Responsibilities

Install, configure, and maintain Microsoft SQL Server databases across production and non-production environments. Monitor database performance and perform performance tuning, query optimization, and capacity planning. Manage database backup, restore, and disaster recovery strategies to ensure data integrity and availability.

Perform database patching, upgrades, and migrations with minimal downtime. Troubleshoot and resolve complex database issues, performance bottlenecks, and incidents. Implement and maintain high availability solutions such as Always On, replication, clustering, or failover mechanisms. Ensure database security, access control, and compliance with organizational policies.

Collaborate with development, DevOps, and infrastructure teams for deployments and database changes. Maintain proper documentation, standards, and operational procedures. Provide guidance and support to junior team members when required.

Required Skills

Strong experience in Microsoft SQL Server (MSSQL) administration. Expertise in performance tuning and query optimization. Hands-on experience with backup, recovery, and disaster recovery planning. Knowledge of high availability solutions like Always On, replication, and clustering. Familiarity with Windows and Linux server environments.

Experience with monitoring tools, scripting, and automation. Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. 5 years of experience in MSSQL database administration. Microsoft SQL Server certifications are an added advantage.
