Job description
Position Information The Lampeter-Strasburg School District is seeking an energetic, patient, and reliable School-Age Child Care Aide to join our team! In this role, you will help create a fun, safe, and engaging environment for elementary-aged children during our before/after-school program, 7:00 a.m. - 9:00 a.m. and/or 3:00 p.
m. to 5:00 p.m. If you love working with kids, guiding group activities, and helping students learn and grow outside the classroom, we'd love to hear from you!
Key Responsibilities
Actively supervise children during indoor and outdoor activities, snack times, and quiet/homework hours. Ensure all safety protocols and attendance check-ins are followed. Activity Assistance: Help lead and support daily activities, including arts and crafts, group games, science projects, and free play. Homework Support: Provide gentle guidance and encouragement to students during dedicated homework time.
Positive Behavior Guidance: Promote positive social interactions, assist in resolving minor conflicts among peers, and model respectful behavior. Program Setup & Cleanup: Assist with preparing program materials, setting up activity stations, and keeping spaces clean and organized. Team Collaboration: Communicate effectively with program supervisors, lead teachers, and parents regarding children's daily activities and individual needs.
Qualifications
& Requirements Education: High school diploma or GED required (coursework in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or Education is a plus). Experience: Prior experience working with children in a camp, daycare, tutoring, or school environment preferred. Certifications: First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain within 30 days of hire).
