• Daily Planet Cafe ROCKY TOP CATERING IS THE EXCLUSIVE CATERER FOR THE NORTH CAROLINA MUSEUM OF NATURAL SCIENCES. We cater a variety of special events at the Museum, including weddings, corporate events, galas, fundraisers and more. With advance notice, we also provide boxed lunches for groups visiting the Museum. HOURS of Operation M–F: 8am – 5pm Sat.: 9am – 5pm Sun.: 10am – 5pm Location: North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences Nature Research Center Wing 121 West Jones Street Raleigh, NC 27601 Join our team at Daily Planet Cafe located inside the North Carolina Museum of Natural Science in downtown Raleigh. As a Café Attendant , you’ll help create a welcoming experience for museum guests by providing friendly service, maintaining an inviting café, and helping keep things running smoothly. You’ll interact with visitors of all ages while working in a fun and unique environment surrounded by science, nature, and discovery.

What You'll Do

Greet guests with a friendly and welcoming attitude Take customer orders and process transactions accurately Prepare and serve café food, beverages, and other menu items Maintain clean, organized, and well-stocked service areas Restock food, beverages, paper goods, and other supplies as needed Follow proper food safety, sanitation, and cleanliness procedures Assist with opening and closing duties Keep tables, counters, equipment, and café areas clean and presentable Answer guest questions and provide helpful, professional service Work as part of a team to keep café operations running efficiently Assist with special events, museum programs, and other hospitality needs when needed Create a positive experience for guests from the moment they arrive until they leave What We're Looking For We're looking for someone who is: Friendly, positive, and comfortable interacting with the public Dependable and punctual A strong team player with a willingness to jump in wherever needed Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment Detail-oriented and committed to cleanliness Able to communicate clearly and professionally Comfortable handling cash and/or point-of-sale transactions Excited to provide excellent customer service Previous café, restaurant, retail, hospitality, or customer service experience is a plus, but we're happy to train the right person!
