- Buffalo, MO 65622 Department Nursing Reports To Director of Nursing (DON) / Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) / Charge Nurse Position Summary Buffalo Prairie Care Center is seeking compassionate and dependable Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) to join our nursing team. The LPN provides direct nursing care to residents in accordance with physician orders, individualized care plans, federal and state regulations, and facility policies. LPN nurses play a vital role in maintaining high-quality resident care by assisting with staffing needs on an as-needed basis, including weekdays, weekends, holidays, and occasional shift coverage.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Provide direct nursing care to residents in accordance with physician orders and individualized care plans. Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately. Monitor residents for changes in physical or mental condition and report significant findings promptly. Complete accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record.
Assess resident needs and communicate concerns to physicians, families, and the interdisciplinary team. Supervise and delegate nursing tasks to Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs). Respond appropriately to emergencies and changes in resident condition. Maintain infection prevention and control standards. Ensure compliance with all state, federal, and facility regulations.
Assist with admissions, transfers, and discharges. Participate in shift reports and care conferences as requested. Promote resident dignity, safety, comfort, and quality of life. Maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations. Perform other nursing duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Current Missouri Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in good standing. Current CPR certification (or ability to obtain upon hire). Long-term care or skilled nursing experience preferred, but new graduates are encouraged to apply. Strong clinical assessment and communication skills. Ability to work independently while collaborating with the healthcare team.
Excellent organizational and time management skills. Physical Requirements Ability to lift, transfer, and reposition residents using proper body mechanics and equipment. Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and stoop for extended periods. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with assistance when necessary. Ability to respond quickly in emergency situations.
Schedule Part Time/PRN (As Needed) Full -Time w/sign-on bonus Flexible scheduling based on facility needs. Day, evening, night, weekend, and holiday shifts may be available. Must be willing to work occasional weekends and holidays as needed.
