Echo Technician - Cardiology

Performs the duties necessary to provide echocardiograms. This includes scheduling tests, maintenance of equipment, preparation of patient, performing the exam in a proficient, timely manner to include appropriate measurements, consultation with physician, disposition of exams, filing and proper billing. Maintains clinical competencies of Echocardiography Lab.

Demonstrates ability to teach new echocardiographic techniques. During echo exam perform additional diagnostic techniques of echocardiography as demonstrated necessary by exam findings. Assists in performance evaluations of Echo technicians. Assists in the development of educational guidelines, departmental policies, procedures, future direction, yearly budget and helps maintain appropriate staffing levels.
