Tax Manager
Job description
Our Foundation
G eeslin Group has been built on something simple: great work starts with great relationships.
We are a mid-sized, regional public accounting firm that provides tax, accounting, audit, and advisory services to individuals, families, and businesses. While the work we do is technical and ever-changing, our approach has remained grounded in the things that matter most-knowing our clients, understanding their goals, and being there to help them succeed.
Over the years, our firm has grown, but we have never lost sight of who we are. We are a team of professionals who take pride in doing quality work, solving problems, and helping our clients navigate important financial decisions that provide clarity and peace of mind. Many of our relationships with clients span decades, and that loyalty is priceless.
Our team works hard to build the same kind of lasting relationships with one another. Our employees bring different experiences, strengths, and perspectives to the firm, but we share a commitment to serving our clients and supporting one another. We believe in collaboration, sharing knowledge, and helping each other grow.
That is who we are-and why we stand out as a accounting firm that measures success not just in numbers, but in the relationships we build.
What You'll Do
We are looking for a Tax Manager to join our team and play an important role in delivering high-quality tax services and building strong, lasting client relationships. In this role, you will oversee tax engagements, provide technical guidance, review tax returns, and help ensure our clients receive timely, accurate, and excellent service.
The Tax Manager also serves as a leader and resource to the tax team-coaching and developing staff, supporting engagement planning and workflow, and helping identify opportunities to create efficiencies and drive growth. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys combining technical tax expertise with client service and problem-solving, in a dynamic industry.

Deliver accurate, technically sound tax work and review returns thoroughly and on time, identifying issues and proposing solutions.
-
Prepare responses and documentation for income tax audits.
-
Monitor tax legislation and share relevant updates with the team.
-
Advise clients on tax-saving and compliance strategies as a client-facing advisor.
-
Supervise, coach, and mentor staff and senior accountants: delegate work, oversee engagements, and give constructive feedback on their work.
-
Partner with Tax Managers and firm leadership to drive team and firm success.
-
Support firm growth by expanding client engagements, identifying new service opportunities, and building relationships with clients, prospects, referral sources, and community organizations.
What You Need:
-
CPA required, plus a bachelor's in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; master's in Tax or Accounting preferred.
-
5+ years of public accounting tax experience.
-
Strong technical knowledge of business, individual, trust, and nonprofit returns.
-
Proficiency with tax software (UltraTax preferred), Microsoft Office, and accounting software.
-
Proven leadership experience coaching, mentoring, and supervising others.
-
Strong communication, client service, and relationship-building skills.
-
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to research and resolve complex tax matters independently and collaboratively.
-
Highly organized and detail-oriented, able to manage multiple engagements on time and within budget while upholding quality standards.
What We Offer
-
A collaborative, relationship-focused work environment.
-
The opportunity to work closely with clients and make a meaningful impact on their businesses and financial goals.
-
Opportunities to develop and mentor team members while continuing to grow your own technical and leadership skills.
-
A team-oriented culture that values people and relationships, and prioritizes learning and professional development.
-
In-office, team oriented work environment. Some workplace flexibility offered after a training period.
