Assistant General Meat/Fish Manager

Assistant Fresh Meat/Fish General Manager Position Summary The Assistant Fresh Meat/Fish General Manager supports the Fresh Meat/Fish General Manager in monitoring and coordinating Fresh Meat and Fish operations across all store locations. This role works with store teams to maintain consistent standards and follows up on operational needs and issues.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Fresh Meat/Fish General Manager in monitoring department operations across all store locations.
• Visit stores to review product quality, freshness, presentation, and compliance with company standards.
• Communicate with store and department managers about operational needs and follow up on assigned action items.
• Review sales, inventory, shrink, and waste reports and flag concerns to the Fresh Meat/Fish General Manager.
• Support training and implementation of department procedures and standards.
• Help coordinate with purchasing and distribution teams to address product availability and inventory issues.
• Track recurring issues across stores and provide updates and recommendations to the Fresh Meat/Fish General Manager.
• Planning on new locations: planograms, orders, staff training
• Participating in new location opening
• Train and assess store teams and their performance
• Monitoring major performance metrics of each location along with the Fresh Meat leader
• Covering stores teams when needed Qualifications
• Experience in Fresh Meat or Fish department operations, preferably in grocery retail.
• Knowledge of product handling, food safety, inventory, and merchandising practices.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to travel between store locations.
