• As an Assistant Teacher at Midcoast Maine Community Action, your role is to support the lead teacher in creating a fun and engaging learning environment for young children, helping them grow and learn every day.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the lead teacher with classroom activities and lessons.
• Help prepare materials and set up learning spaces.
• Support children during playtime and educational activities.
• Encourage positive behavior and help manage classroom dynamics.
• Communicate with parents and caregivers about children's progress.
• Participate in team meetings and contribute to planning sessions.Qualifications: Required Education:
• High school diploma or equivalent Required Experience:
• Experience working with children in a classroom or similar setting
• Basic understanding of child development and educational practices Required Skills and Abilities:
• Good communication skills to interact with kids, parents, and staff
• Ability to work well in a team and follow directions
• Patience and creativity in engaging with young learners
