Job description

Title: Workday & Snowflake Report Developer Department: Business Information Systems Reports To: Director, Business Inform Syst Position Summary: The Workday & Snowflake Report Developer will be responsible for the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of reports from Workday, the data warehouse, Snowflake and other HR, Finance, Research systems.

This role will work closely with HR, Finance, and other business stakeholders to understand requirements, translate them into technical specifications, and deliver robust and scalable solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Workday's architecture, data models, and security configuration.

Essential Functions

Design and develop complex Workday reports (Advanced, Matrix, Composite, and Search) and create intricate calculated fields to meet specific business logic Write and tune advanced SQL/SnowSQL to transform raw Workday data (via RaaS) into curated reporting layers within Snowflake Architect Micro. Strategy metadata, schemas, and "architect" objects to enable robust self-service reporting for non-technical users Build interactive dashboards and scorecards that aggregate data across Workday, Snowflake, and Research systems Partner with HR, Finance, and IT stakeholders to translate business needs into detailed technical specifications and design documents Participate in Workday’s bi-annual major releases, performing regression testing on existing reports and integrations to ensure system stability Perform data validation and reconciliation to ensure accuracy across integrated systems and troubleshoot report-related integration failures Maintain comprehensive documentation for all reports and adhere to established development standards and change management processes Prerequisite Qualifications: Bachelor's degree 3+ years of experience developing and maintaining Workday reports 3+ years of experience with Snowflake and reporting tools Experience with the Workday Business Form Layout tool (BIRT) for high-fidelity document generation Strong understanding of Workday's data model, business processes, and security framework Proficiency in SQL Strong understanding of dimensional modeling concepts Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment Strong communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Workday Finance and HCM modules Experience with ticketing systems and version control tools ​ Additional Information: This position is hybrid.

Union: Professional Staff Association (PSA) Range: Professional Staff -28 Compensation: $79,241.00 - $148,916.00 NJIT considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.

This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, or other items.
